Hello, my name is Juliana, and I have been cabin crew for almost 9 years. I currently work for Freebird Europe, but have been grounded for 6 months. I absolutely love my job and I have dedicated myself to it very deeply.
It all started when my father used to work for VARIG in Brazil and I used to go with him to the airport. Pretending to work also at the check in, I would interact and live in the aviation world from a young age. Being around 5/6 years old, it was always a world full of joy, with sparkles, and feeling so much happiness every time I would see an aircraft.
However, as we moved to Portugal, that sparkle somehow became less shiny. It never occurred to me I could come back to aviation. I kept myself busy with life until 2010, when I started applying to my first airlines. It was in 2012, when I applied to Ryanair, that things started to change.
We often believe that what must be will be; but if I would have believed truly in that, I think I would not be here right now. My career was made of persistence, knowledge and dedication. Above all, every time I stumbled, I would stand up. Nothing was more rewarding than getting up after feeling defeated. Nothing was easy, but everything was worth fighting for.
I hope that everyone who listens to my interview will know that they are capable and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This crisis is not the end. It is the beginning of something great.
